Protein Levels Required for Different Demographic Groups
When it comes to protein, there is no one size fits all for people. Amongst other factors, the level of protein you need highly depends on a range of factors, like your weight, your gender, your age, and your lifestyle. Best protein bars won’t solve your protein needs automatically, understanding your protein needs and then having the adequate amount of proteins will.
Hence,
in this blog, we will try to deconstruct how to measure the amount of protein
that you need to consume on a daily basis. You can always google to check how
much protein a specific food item contains, and that will help you make sure
that you are meeting your body’s stipulated need for protein.
For children between the age of 14
and 18, an average of 65 grams of protein should be adequate. A good rule of
thumb is to make sure that they consume 0.99 grams of protein for every
kilogram of their bodyweight.
For adults between the age of 19 and
70, the recommended daily intake of protein is 64 grams. They should make sure
to include 0.84 grams of protein for every kg of their own body weight.
For adults older than that age
group, the protein needs will further increase because their bodies are getting
weak by age.
This is the average level of protein
needs for men. Women will need lesser amount of protein for each of these
groups. However, pregnant women continue to need high protein bars and snacks, and other
such food items because they are raising a baby in their womb.
