Making Protein Bars At Home
If you’re someone who works out, you’re not new to the entire hype about protein shake, protein bars, just protein general. Protein is the building block of cells and tissues, meaning every time you workout, your muscles tear and rebuild themselves. This rebuilding requires protein. While it may be supremely inconvenient to stew something or whip up something every time after you workout, you can rely on granola bars or protein bars. They are made out of nuts and other ingredients which are filling and nutritious at the same time.
While you’re buying protein bars, there are certain things that you
need to look for, so that you know you aren’t eating packaged ‘healthy food’
which is unhealthy in reality. Always look for sources of protein in these
protein bars. Your protein goals differ as per your workout regime and goals.
Some bars have whey protein, while others may have collagen. If you’re okay
with non-vegetarian sources, then there may be some other options for you as
well. You can also look for low carb protein bars if you want to lose
fat and gain muscle.
If you’re still skeptical about packaged bars, you can make protein
bars at home. You can pick your ingredients as per your liking and be assured
that you haven’t added anything that you’re not supposed to eat. Your trainer
may list down certain ingredients for you as per your regime. They last for
over a week as well, so you can make them in batches. The simplest way is to
pulp dates in a mixer and add the nuts you’d like. You can choose your source of
sugar or healthy carbs like bajra or oats. Sugar free protein bars can be made as
well. Peanut butter lovers can go for adding peanut butter.
Little bit of research on sources of protein can come handy.
